Trump attempts to commit voter fraud

Like much of public life during the pandemic, the Postal Service is under great stress. How did President Donald Trump respond? He appointed Louis DeJoy as Postmaster General. DeJoy’s only qualification for the job is having made huge contributions to Trump. DeJoy started with efforts to make voting-by-mail more difficult. He issued a mandate that no postal employees may work overtime. Mail will be late. In addition, he had many streetside mailboxes removed across the nation. Voters will be confused or deterred from mailing their ballots.

Trump largely admitted that his goal was to make it hard for citizens to vote by mail. There is widespread understanding that ballots may take over a week from when they are mailed until the Postal Service delivers them.

This is fraud. The US Constitution mandates that there be a Postal Service. Trump and Republicans claim to hold the Constitution as their political guide. In contrast, Trump and DeJoy are trying to limit the number of vote-by-mail ballots received by polling stations or county auditors’ offices.

In alarmist terms, Trump predicted there will be rampant voting fraud. Fulfilling that prediction, Trump commits fraud by radically hindering the Postal Service in their effort to facilitate voting.

We are doomed if we re-elect this president. We can trust Biden/Harris to be honest in governing. We cannot trust Trump/Pence to do the same.
