Sens. Grassley and Ernst should know what is right and wrong and that it is part of the oath they took when elected. How can they possibly believe that seeking the most information available isn’t essential to assure a fair and thorough trial? I wonder if they would listen to the people of Iowa who elected them or will they fall in line and vote the way their GOP party tells them to vote?
I for one will call and email both senators to let them know what to me is right: to call any witness with potentially relevant testimony, to conduct a fair and just trial, and to vote according to the facts of the trial. The GOP Senators have an ethical and civic responsibility to support the Constitution and to do so without bias or alignment with one’s party.
If we don’t speak up now for what is right we are just as much to blame. But if we do speak up in record numbers by contacting our Senators and they don’t listen to the people of Iowa and vote with their party (without careful consideration of all the evidence and the Constitutional implications), then we have to vote them out of office.
Voters of Iowa, contact your Senators today, tell them how you want them to vote.
