Stuelke would excel as a Linn County supervisor

One of the joys of being a teacher is that you have an opportunity to see students go out into the real world and be successful. I am enjoying this with John Stuelke, who is running for Linn County supervisor.

John has devoted 38 years to law enforcement, working in the field and as second in command in the sheriff’s department. John has excelled in his career, as a citizen and as a family man. He has volunteered for Center Point City Council and as the Center Point mayor for a total of 22 years. He and his wife have raised five productive citizens also. During this time, John graduated from Upper Iowa University in public administration and he was one of the 1 percent of police chosen to attend the FBI Police Academy at Quantico.

John considers many things important that I do — mental health, using local taxes to build and maintain secondary roads, unions for Linn County employees, maintaining the excellent financial management, and continuing to develop recreational parks and trails.

From John’s biography and what I know of him, I believe that he would make a wonderful supervisor.
