Media bias on full display in Cedar Rapids

I read the Nov. 4 Gazette Editorial “A plea for restraint” with great interest that quickly turned to disappointment and disgust.

How wonderfully magnanimous it is for The Gazette editorial board to implore all to “embrace restraint because violence cannot be an acceptable response to political disputes.” That was a great opening, but the biased media quickly showed its colors. The Board then explains how it is difficult to remain calm in light of several grievances that come right out of the Democrat campaign book — e.g. Don’t forget the damage done to the nation over the last four years; the smashing of Democratic norms; the demonizing of immigrants; the embrace of white supremacy; mishandling of the pandemic. I will tell you that Republicans reject each of those bogus Democrat talking points. The board goes on to bemoan a multitude of social issues which are implied to be the result of Republican governance because the board says the issues exist and therefore are the fault of Republicans. The left should practice what it preaches. Businesses in many cities have boarded their windows in fear of riots/looting subsequent to the president retaining the presidency. Finally, the board should recognize that Iowa voters significantly rejected the candidates (and their agenda) that The Gazette endorsed.
