Law enforcement stands with Kevin Kinney

As county sheriffs and chiefs of police, current and retired, with more than 117 years of combined law enforcement experience, we stand up today to proudly support the re-election of State Sen. Kevin Kinney.

With 28 years as a former Deputy Sheriff, Kevin’s been a strong advocate for law enforcement in the Iowa Senate. Despite his opponent’s claims, Kevin is tough on crime. He’s also smart on crime.

Kevin has been a leader in bipartisan efforts at the Capitol to:

• Put more resources toward helping victims of crime, especially for survivors in rural Iowa where access to support is limited;

• Create and fund the Office to Combat Human Trafficking, helping Iowa law enforcement truly fight that scourge;

• Keep violent criminals in prison; and,

• Bring justice to victims by extending the criminal statute of limitations for kidnapping and human trafficking of children.

We’d also like to clear up another misconception that has appeared recently. Contrary to what his opponent says, Kevin supports cracking down on illegal immigration. The truth is, Kevin Kinney supports comprehensive, bipartisan reform by Congress to fix our immigration system and legislation punishing employers who recruit and exploit undocumented workers.

Kevin has spent his entire career serving his community and keeping people safe. Please join us in supporting his re-election to the Iowa Senate on Nov. 6.
