How residents can combat this era of Trump

President Donald Trump is a very flawed person. He’s had three wives, each of whom he has cheated on, and had his people pay the women to cover it up. He is self fixated, has no empathy for others, and acts on the spur of the moment. He’s callous, and ruthless, while possessing superficial charm.

It would be nice to have a president who speaks in more than monosyllables and doesn’t use childish communications, such as name calling and insults. What can we do?

First, don’t waste time with Impeachment. Sixty-seven Senators would never be brave enough. We will have a flood of prospective candidates coming through Iowa, hoping to replace him. What if he lost the nomination?

Express your concerns by email, by calling your representatives locally and Washington, by visiting their offices, and by attending their town halls. For the last two years residents have protested on Eighth Avenue by the federal courthouse in Cedar Rapids every Tuesday at noon. Yes, even in the rain and snow. When you drive by, honk and let us know your support. If you can spare a few minutes, come join us with your creative signs. We have extras if you need one.

And Vote. Your voice needs to be heard. Our country needs you.
