Historic summit brings out best, worst

While there are still questions and time to work out details of the USA-North Korean Summit, it is amazing as it is disappointing how much skepticism and criticism has emerged.

Before, during and after the historic first-step denuclearization signing by heads of state President Donald Trump and Kim, Trump bashing, obscenities, and criticism have intensified. In fact, a CNN reporter almost sabotaged the historic signing by shouting questions. Those hating President Donald Trump still believe he shouldn’t have been elected, is immoral, brainless, a liar, and a danger to the USA and world peace. Giving him one ounce of credit for possibly preventing WWIII starting in the Korean Peninsula is out of the question. All despite Kim’s assertion that “no other president could have done this.”

But no, Trump’s critics refusing to understand skills of negotiation will continue to berate our president and downgrade the exceptionalism of our country. Yet, Trump continues to keep his promises. Reconstructing trade agreements, exiting the unnecessary, ineffective and costly Iran Nuclear and Paris Climate Accords, nominating a pro-life Supreme Court justice, tax cutting, deregulation resulting in a robust economy with low unemployment are reasons to applaud.

I once respected the Democrat Party, mainstream media, and entertainment industries. But radicals have high jacked that party and many malcontents joined to denigrate our traditions and culture. This only shows their true colors and serves to alienate. I hope issues, values and what’s good for our country rather than disposition for or against our president will prevail.
