Hinson puts politics before Iowans

“We need to put people before politics,” according to 1st District Republican congressional candidate Ashley Hinson. Although Hinson campaigned as a moderate for her state House seat, her votes do not represent the best interests of Iowans. However, they do follow party-line voting.

Ashley voted on some of the most extreme legislation coming through Iowa’s Statehouse; inadequate public school funding; gun legislation making it easier for anyone to own a firearm; politicizing our state courts system; busting public sector unions; gutting collective bargaining and removing women’s access to health care through defunding Planned Parenthood.

Hinson would also have you believe that the federal government is broken and the House is not getting anything done. This, too, is another divisive talking point. House Democrats have passed bills that protect health care coverage for those with preexisting conditions, lower prescription drug prices. protection for election security. Sadly, these bills and others, are stalled in the GOP controlled Senate.

Hinson’s state voting record should alarm those in the first district; she is putting politics before Iowans.

Won’t don’t need more divisive talking points, we need to support Abby Finkenauer, our current representative, and the bipartisan work she is doing in congress.
