Neither Joni Ernst nor Theresa Greenfield offer Iowans a good choice for U.S. Senate. A much better choice is Cedar Rapids native and independent candidate Suzanne Herzog. I have known Suzanne for several years and I have observed her interacting with people of varied political views, ethnic backgrounds, and economic means. She is always respectful and shows genuine concern for all people. Of the three Senate candidates, she is by far the most knowledgeable on key issues and best prepared to effectively serve the interests of Iowans.
Herzog is a former head emergency room nurse, who earned a second college degree in economics. She is by far the most knowledgeable about issues related to health care. In addition, she is someone who has committed herself to helping others. She has served on relief missions in El Salvador and after Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. Also, recently she went to packing plants in Iowa to help administer coronavirus tests and filled in at nursing homes that were short of staff.
In contrast, Joni Ernst, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, has done nothing to protect the integrity of our system of justice. She has turned a blind eye to the firings of inspector generals. She has allowed Bill Barr to politicize the Justice Department. Theresa Greenfield does not have a history of public service and her knowledge of key policy issues appears to be limited. Herzog knows the issues and is clearly the best choice for U.S. Senator from Iowa.
