Gun ownership a result of freedom

An article on Page 5A in the June 19 Gazette states “Americans own nearly half world’s guns in civilian hands.” America also is the country whose citizens enjoy the most freedom in the world.

Do you suppose there is a correlation between these two facts? We citizens should learn which politicians want to preserve this freedom and those who want to abolish this freedom by slowly chipping it away, just like someone using an ice pick on a block of ice.
