It is a sad day and will continue to be sad days ahead. Why is in the world, Gov. Kim Reynolds would let go of a gem like Jerry Foxhoven? I hope it is not to cut our mental health care services for our children in foster care or the therapy they so need for the terrible trauma they have endured.
Being a foster parent for 20 years, for our vulnerable youth, I fear they are in for a world of more injustice for the “new team” being “put together.” We pay now, or we pay later with this population being unhealed and not being able to hold down jobs in the future.
Jerry Foxhoven was compassionate, educated, approachable and a good listener. He attended state conferences on weekends about our youth in foster care, in the trenches along with foster parents.
