Fear is shaping 2020 GOP campaign strategy

In The Gazette of June 16, U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst was quoted as saying “Our freedoms are quite literally under attack because the radical left will stop at nothing until socialism has spread from coast to coast.” President Donald Trump was quoted in an article on the opposite page saying “If anyone but me takes over there will be a market crash the likes of which has not been seen before.”

If fear is a campaign strategy, it is a pretty pathetic statement on which to base a voting choice. But what else have Republicans to offer? I guess it has to be fear.
