Letters to the Editor

Earth is sailing toward a climate iceberg

Passengers on the Titanic felt secure until events quickly and irreversibly overtook them.

Earth is the new Titanic, fossil fuels are the iceberg. Our one hope of survival lies in a last-ditch embrace of renewable energy, thorium reactors, massive reforestation and even geoengineering.

It may all be too late, but in light of what our best scientists foresee, not to try everything we can to save ourselves, even now, seems saddest of all.

I am banking my life on the policies Bernie Sanders advances in his Green New Deal. If you have not yet read it, I commend it to your thoughtful consideration.
