Don't let Republicans raise sales taxes

Tell your state representatives not to raise sales taxes. Gov. Kim Reynolds’s tax and budget plans for Iowa are just another verse in the same song the wealthy and powerful always sing to stay in power. The wealthy and powerful always seek to pit the public against the weak and powerless, to blame our problems on those out of power, so we fight among ourselves while the rich get richer. As the old joke goes: Three men sit around a plate of 12 cookies. The millionaire grabs 11 cookies and then tells the farmer “hey, that immigrant guy is trying to take your cookie.”

Reynolds and the Republicans in power have shown they are willing to divide this state time and time again to distract us from their plans to take even more away from the people and give it to their wealthy donors.

Republicans funneled millions of Iowa taxpayer dollars to their corporate donors who then moved their companies out of state, but then blame minorities for ‘”taking our jobs.” The Republican Party stopped working for us in this state and in this country a long time ago but they can’t stop pointing their finger at others as the problem.
