Claims aimed at Kinney are untrue

It has been alleged that Kevin Kinney, who is running for reelection to the state Senate in District 39, is not supportive of families. This is simply untrue.

As an Assistant Johnson County Attorney, I was privileged to work closely with Kevin when he was a detective with the Johnson County Sheriff’s office. No one was more dedicated to, or worked harder for, victims and their families. This included children, the elderly, the mentally ill, and persons in every station of life.

Kevin’s dedication was unmatched. He worked tirelessly to bring whoever wronged victims to justice. This included arresting undocumented persons if there was probable cause to do so.

Kevin’s work ethic and common sense inspire the respect of others. These have enabled him to work well with others, not only as a detective, but in the state Senate. As a lifelong farmer, he understands the needs of the agricultural community. His commitment to education is reflected by his service as a Clear Creek Amana School Board member and his efforts in funding and trying to maintain Iowa’s proud heritage in that regard. His emphasis on strong education and the availability of medical care are core values of supporting families.

We are fortunate to have Kevin Kinney in the State Senate. I am honored to know and support Kevin, and ask that you support him with your vote.
