Change came swiftly for New Zealand

New Zealand banned military-style semi-automatic weapons within a few days after shootings that killed 50 people. Every semi-automatic weapon used in the Christchurch terrorist attack was banned. It also appears both sides of their political system were in agreement for change.

Gun ownership in New Zealand is a privilege, not a right.

The question must be asked as to why this country hasn’t been able to accomplish gun control. It can’t be the lack of concern from the private sector. It can be attributed to our mania for the right of protection at all costs. More deaths and more deaths don’t move us to a solution.

New Zealand is doing it in a matter of a few days. We have no time frame, just more deaths.
