Attorney General Barr should resign

America is in the middle of a disaster in the making. What is wrong with our government when corruption is allowed to run rampart and infiltrate the department of justice? The only thing separating our democracy from a dictatorship is the “rule of law,” which at the moment is at risk.

As chief law enforcement officer, the attorney general’s job is to enforce and protect our rule of law. But the current AG William Barr has decided to interfere with the sentencing of Roger Stone, a friend of President Donald Trump. Barr wanted to reduce his sentence, causing four prosecutors on the case to resign. Barr also appointed an outside prosecutor to review the case of Michael Flynn, another friend of Trump.

Barr isn’t ethically fit to sit in judgement of any case involving Trump and his friends. He needs to disqualify himself as an honest broker of the law. His resignation is necessary to restore integrity to the Department of Justice.

The most dangerous message from Barr’s Department of Justice is that Trump is above the law, making him a dictator. Because of Trump’s impulsive decision making, we should all be concerned. Who knows what he’ll do next.
