Update 11:00 p.m.:
According to the Cedar Rapids Police Department, part of Interstate 380 has now been reopened to traffic:
“I-380 southbound between Exit 16: US 30; US 151 and US 218 and Exit 13: County Road E70 (Cedar Rapids). The left lane is blocked due to a crash.
Northbound remains blocked due to serious crash.”

A vehicle heading south on the north bound lanes of Interstate 380 led to a multi-vehicle accident Monday evening.
According to a Facebook post from the Cedar Rapids Police Department, at 9:10 p.m. the police department received multiple calls about a car going south on Interstate 380. As officers responded to locate this vehicle, they came upon a serious multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 380 between 76th Avenue and Wright Brothers Blvd SW.
According to the CRPD, due to the amount of debris and seriousness of the accident, north bound traffic is being diverted of the interstate onto Wright Brothers. The number and extent of the injuries were still being determined at the time of the post.
