A woman received what is believed to be a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg Wednesday evening.
According to a media release from the Cedar Rapids Police Department, at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday officers were dispatched to 308 Jacolyn Dr. SW in reference to a report of shots fired. When officers arrived, they found an adult female in front of 410 Jacolyn Dr. who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.
Police say the woman’s wounds did not appear to be life threatening. She was given medical attention by emergency responders until she could be transported to a hospital for further treatment.
Officers then canvassed the area locating witnesses and collecting evidence, according to the release.
As this is an active investigation, there will be no more information about this incident released at this time.
