Tornado confirmed near Vinton moving Northeast

According to the National Weather Service, a tornado has been confirmed near Vinton at 4:46 p.m.

The tornado was spotted traveling northeast at 25 miles per hour.

A tornado warning remains in effect until 5:15 p.m. for south central Buchanan County, northeastern Benton County, and northwestern Linn County.

The tornado is expected at Urbana around 5:05 p.m., Center Point around 5:10 p.m., Walker and Troy Mills around 5:15 p.m.

Anyone that is in the path of the tornado is asked to seek shelter.

This includes Interstate 380 north of Cedar Rapids between mile markers 34 and 49.
