Jake Wilson search: Father Mike Wilson arrested for assault following news conference

/

Following a press conference today in La Porte City where authorities said human remains they believe to be Jake Wilson were found, Wilson's biological father Mike Wilson was seen lunging towards the boy's stepfather, Jeremy Neiswonger.

Jake Wilson, 15, had been missing since April, and while authorities stopped short of officially stating the remains were his, they said that what they found was "consistent" with "what we were looking for."

A DNA test will confirm the findings but can take up to two weeks to complete.

In a video captured by news cameras after the conference, Mike Wilson can be heard saying, "I blame you," as he lunges towards Neiswonger.

According to the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier, Mike Wilson was arrested on two counts of misdemeanor assault after the altercation.
