Cedar Rapids man seriously injured after fireworks incident in Marion

MARION — A Cedar Rapids man was seriously injured Friday after an incident involving fireworks.

Marion police said officers, firefighters and paramedics were dispatched around 6:30 p.m. to the 400 block of 62nd street in Marion. Richard Powers, 52, was found suffering from serious injuries. An ambulance took Powers to an area hospital, police said. They gave no further information about the extent of Powers’ injuries or whether he’s still in the hospital.

The incident remains under investigation.
