Person shot late Thursday in SE Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS — A person was shot late Thursday in southeast Cedar Rapids, police say.

The Cedar Rapids Police Department responded to the 400 block of 17th Street SE at 10:25 p.m. on Thursday after receiving reports of a person with a gunshot wound, according to a news release.

The person was transported to a hospital for treatment with injuries that weren’t life-threatening, the release said.

The shooting is under investigation.
