A Marion man was hospalized with non-life threatening injuries after a single-vehicle accident Saturday morning.

According to a Linn County Sheriff’s Office media release, at 10:20 a.m., Linn County Sheriff’s Deputies and Linn County Rescue 57 along with members of Mount Vernon Police Department, West Bertram Fire Department and Area Ambulance Service, responded to a call of a single vehicle accident with unknown injuries at 7611 Mount Vernon Road.

There they found a vehicle at rest in the front lawn at the above location. According to the release, witnesses told officers that the vehicle, driven by Raymond Dochterman, 57, of Marion, was traveling west on Mount Vernon Road when it left the roadway, slipping into the ditch and sliding into the nearby yard and coming to rest. Investigators suspect that Dochterman may have had a medical issue that caused the accident, according to the release. Dochterman was alone in his vehicle and he was wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident.

Dochterman was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital for treatment of what officers believe to be non-life threatening injuries.
