Iowa City Police: Des Moines man sexually assaulted woman, took pictures on his phone

A Des Moines man has been arrested after being accused of sexually abusing a woman at a residence in the 300 block of Gilbert Street and taking photographs of the act on his phone.

According to the criminal complaint filed with the Iowa District Court in Johnson County, on September 9 at 3:15 a.m., Bradley Louis Coston, 20, of Des Moines, entered a bedroom where a woman was lying on her stomach while talking on the phone. Without receiving her explicit concent, he began to rub her back over her clothes, and then began to rub her back under her clothes. He then pulled down her pants and performed sex acts against her will. Coston used his mobile phone to take photos during the encounter, also without consent from the woman, official said.

During an interview with police, Coston said he did not receive explicit consent to perform sex acts on the woman. He also acknowledged that he had taken photographs of the acts on his phone, which he had with him at the interview, the complaint states.

Coston faces a charge of third-degree sexual abuse, a Class C felony, punishable by up to 10 years in prison. He also faces a serious misdemeanor for invasion of privacy.
