The driver of a semi truck that rolled over on a Highway 30 interchange was trapped but otherwise unharmed when officers arrived at the scene Sunday night. However, due to slowing and merging traffic, a secondary three-vehicle accident occurred and caused injuries to two of the drivers.
According to a news release, officers were dispatched to a single vehicle rollover accident on the Highway 30 interchange with I-380 northbound at around 4 p.m. Sunday, January 6. The accident involved a semi which rolled over trapping the driver in the cab. He was able to get out of the cab uninjured.
According to the release, a secondary three-vehicle accident occurred 16 minutes later in the southbound lanes of I-380. Officers arrived on scene and provided medical treatment to two drivers of the vehicles involved in the secondary accident. They were transported to a hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries.
As of 6 p.m. all lanes were once again open.
