Fire destroys hay storage building in Marion

A fire in Marion destroyed a farm storage building on Monday morning.

Crews responded at 7:50 a.m. to a fire in a building used to store hay for livestock on the property of Greg and Terry Churchill at 1774 Cottage Grove Parkway, according to a news release from the Linn County Sheriff’s Office.

The building and hay were a “total loss,” according to the news release. The cause of the fire is unknown and is under investigation by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office.

No one was in the building or injured during the fire, the release said.
