Des Moines man found in Marion woman's garage, charged with burglary

MARION — Police arrested a Des Moines man this week after finding him in a Marion woman’s garage.

The woman called police at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, saying she’d seen a man enter her garage at 2660 Third Avenue and that he was attempting to enter her home.

Officers found the man — later identified as Ryan R. Gochneaur, 33 — in the garage, and he “immediately gave up and complied with law enforcement,” according to the criminal complaint.

Gochneaur, charged with second-degree burglary, a Class C felony, entered the garage through a window, police said.
