CORALVILLE — Coralville Police are investigating the discovery of two bodies in a hotel Tuesday evening.

Chief Barry Bedford said the bodies were found in one of the rooms by maintenance staff at the Suburban Extended Stay Hotel in the 2400 block of Holiday Road around 6:38 p.m.

Chief Bedford says he anticipates autopsies to confirm identies and causes of death.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation has been contacted to assist with the investigation and its involvment is “precautionary,” according to a release from Coralville Police.

He said it was too early to determine if the deaths were suspicious.

Chief Bedford added that he does not believe the public is in danger as a result of the incident.
