Suspect arrested after Saturday night robbery

One suspect has been arrested after a Saturday night armed robbery in Marion.

According to a news release, Marion Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at 289 14th St. at around 5:35 p.m. Saturday.

The suspect, Nelson Junior Brocks, 37, had robbed a woman of her purse at knifepoint. He was later located in the 2800 block of 1st Avenue NE and taken into custody, according to the release.

The Cedar Rapids Police Department assisted the Marion Police Department in the arrest.

Brocks was charged with second degree robbery and domestic abuse while displaying a dangerous weapon.
