Icy roadways have led to a variety of weather-related road issues and accidents as commuters travel throughout Eastern Iowa today.

Cedar Rapids Public Safety Spokesman Greg Buelow said officers responded to more than 77 traffic accidents during that time frame.

Multiple incidents were reported along I-380, including a multi-car collision during the early morning commute hours.

Video from the Iowa DOT shows the incident which occurred between Blairs Ferry Road and Collins Road exists around 5:30 a.m. No injuries were reported doing this incident.

According to the National Weather Service temperatures are expected to remain in the mid-20s through the evening hours, and the region has a chance for additional snow flurries, but little to no accumulation is expected.

Ahead of rush hour the Iowa DOT travel website currently shows clear roadways between Cedar Rapids and Iowa City, however warnings still remain for possible isolated frozen participation.
