Tell voters why you are running for this position. What makes you most qualified?
I am a people-oriented person, I enjoy working with the public. I’ve been working with the public for more than 36 years. My strengths are resolving customer issues and solving complex problems. I know how the Treasurer’s Office functions, I will work with all involved to make the best calculated decisions for the money collected by the Treasurer’s Office, and will work at the windows with the clerks and Deputies to provide a continuing excellent service to the people of Linn County.
What should voters know about you before going to the polls?
I am a hard working person who strives for excellence in all I do. I’ve trained and instructed new employees. I had been a senior account clerk in the Treasurer’s Office for 14 years. I worked at Linn County Treasurer’s Office for 34½ years and now work at Benton County Treasurer’s Office for the last two years. I feel God has blessed me by giving me the wisdom, knowledge and experience needed to lead others to an excellence of service for the people of Linn County.
What other issues related to your platform do you think voters should be aware of before they vote?
I would like to implement the Tyler Tax System as soon as possible to make the Treasurer’s Office function more effectively and efficiently. I’ve been promoting it since March. Linn County Board of Supervisors just signed a contract with them. Coincidence? I think not! I am thankful, I will be able to train staff on this great system. It uses the General Accounting Standards Board approach. So that informed decisions can be made regarding efficient use of tax dollars. Thank you for your vote.
