The City of Cedar Rapids has issued a release stating that Otis Road has been reopened.
This is the final road closure that was in place due to the impending flooding and rising Cedar River water levels over the last two weeks.
In addition, Jones Golf Course is set to reopen on Monday, September 17. The course has been closed since September 4. The course will begin with reopening the clubhouse and front nine holes, while the back nine will remain closed until further notice.
The Cedar River ended it’s rise below major flood stage, which is 16 feet.
A previous forecast had the river cresting near 18 feet, but was reduced late last week.
The river has returned to a level of 8.6 feet, which is below action stage.
