CEDAR RAPIDS — Former Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled to hold a rally Tuesday evening in Cedar Rapids with Democratic gubernatorial candidate Fred Hubbell and his running mate, state Sen. Rita Hart, and U.S. House candidate Abby Finkenauer.

A venue for the “early vote rally” has not been announced. However, doors open at 6 p.m.

Hubbell is running against Gov. Kim Reynolds, and Finkenauer is running against U.S. Rep. Rod Blum in Iowa’s 1st District, in the Nov. 6 elections.

Those wishing to attend the rally were asked to RSVP online at events.mobilizeamerica.io/iowa/event/82548.

Biden 75, who served two terms in the Obama administration, has often been mentioned as a 2020 presidential candidate. Several early polls place him at or near the top of hypothetical matchups against other Democratic hopefuls. Biden has said he will decide later his year or early next whether to run.

In the meantime, he has been campaigning around the county for Democratic candidates on next month’s ballot.
