Thank You Celebration set for federal funding of flood protection

The city of Cedar Rapids is ready to say “Thank You.”

A Federal Funding for Flood Control Thank You Celebration is scheduled for Wednesday, August 8, 2018 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Convention Complex.

The event comes after Cedar Rapids was recently awarded $117 million in federal funds to help build flood protection.

Scheduled speakers are the Cedar Rapids City Manager Jeff Pomeranz, Cedar Rapids Mayor Brad Hart, Senators Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst, and Representative Rod Blum.
