Update, 11:45 a.m., June 19: The ride has been canceled due to low registration, according to a City of Iowa City media release. Refunds will be issued.
Gear up for RAGBRAI with a training ride that will follow nearly the official route from Sigourney to Iowa City.
The ride, benefiting the two overnight towns, will take place Saturday, June 23, 2018, beginning in Sigourney and ending at Big Grove Brewery in Iowa City. Tickets are $40 and include your choice of an official Iowa City or Sigourney RAGBRAI T-shirt, admission to a pre-ride pancake breakfast in Sigourney, and a post-ride hot dog and drink at Big Grove in Iowa City.
Breakfast begins in Sigourney at 6:30 a.m. and riders should be ready to depart at 8 a.m.
Pass-through towns along the ride will feature events and festivities, including Kalona Days in Kalona. Riders are encouraged to stay in Iowa City after the post-ride party at Big Grove for the Downtown Block Party, and get a preview of what 12,000 riders will experience during the overnight RAGBRAI stop on Friday, July 27.
Registration is available online or day-of in Sigourney from 6:30 to 7:45 a.m. All participants must sign a waiver.
Participants should be aware that this ride will not be supported. Cyclists will be responsible for traveling from town to town, and for providing transportation home. Shuttles will not be provided.
