New food coming to NewBo: Barbecue, Filipino food, Indian cuisine

Three other business round out six new shops in incubator program

CEDAR RAPIDS — NewBo City Market on Thursday named six of the newest shops that have joined its incubator program.

The newest shops are:

• EleanorRuby Handmade, a gift and decor shop selling handmade and locally designed items ranging from children’s clothes to bags to wooden signs

Pinoy Cafe, a fast-causal restaurant selling Filipino cuisine

• Smoke’n BBQ Pits, a Texas-style barbecue restaurant and caterer

Melting Bite, an Indian restaurant selling street foods and baked goods

• Fizz and Frolics, a clothing boutique for women, children and teenagers

• Bohemian Grocer, an offshoot of the Sausage Foundry already in the Market that sells locally produced grocery staples.

All the businesses already have opened except for Bohemian Grocer, which is planning a soft opening Oct. 11.
