It’s an especially tasty time of year to stop in Dan and Debbie’s Creamery in Ely. Operations Director Josie Rozum said it will be rolling out holiday ice cream flavors, including peppermint stick, pistachio and eggnog.

Customers also can stock up on other farm-fresh dairy products, including milk and cheese curds, produced by Dan and Debbie’s, as well as a whole host of other Iowa produced products, many of which will be showcased at the upcoming Dan and Debbie’s Holiday Eats event 1 to 4 p.m., Dec. 8.

“It’s just a big sampling event where five or six food and specialty gift producers come and sample at our store along with our products,” Rozum said. “We give out recipe cards of recipes we used in our household growing up.”

Gift baskets are an especially popular item this time of year, she added.

“We put together gift baskets of Iowa made and produced products, including our dairy products,” Rozum said. “ ... People who are traveling outside of Iowa love giving something with an Iowa tie to those family and friends they visit.”

“People love when they can give a gift and they are also putting a smile on a business owner’s face. You are directly impacting someone with your purchase when you shop with us,” Rozum said.
