CEDAR RAPIDS — The Iowa Department of Transportation will hold a public hearing from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday on its project to widen Interstate 380 and rebuild the interchange with Wright Brothers Boulevard.
The meeting will be in Conference Room A at the Iowa DOT’s District 6 Office, 5455 Kirkwood Blvd. SW in Cedar Rapids.
The interstate changes will affect I-380 from north of Johnson County Road F-12/120th Street to south of U.S. 30 while reconfiguring the Wright Brothers Boulevard interchange — the main exit to The Eastern Iowa Airport and a rapidly growing area fueled by a boom in manufacturing, warehouses and homes.

According to the DOT, the meeting will focus on showing the impacts to adjacent property. Iowa DOT staff will be prepared to informally discuss the proposed improvements, but there will be no formal presentation.
There also is a virtual presentation that people can attend between Nov. 30 and Dec. 8. To do so, navigate to iowadot.gov/pim and click on “I-380 Public Meeting #4.”
The Iowa DOT must receive all comments on the proposed projects by Dec. 8 to be considered. Comments may be directed to Cathy Cutler, transportation planner at the Iowa DOT District 6 Office.
