- QB C.J. Beathard said he had a hip pointer going into Maryland, but could've played. He said OC Greg Davis talked to him about playing at halftime, but nothing happened.
CJB talked to WR Derrick Willies last night. He said Willies told him about his dad not doing well in Arizona. He said it wasn't happening here for him, too.

'I think it's a huge loss,” CJB said. 'He's the type of guy you draw up.”
On his own playing time. 'I'm all right with it. You've got to keep the faith that it's all going to work out. You have to stay positive.”
CJB was close with Willies. He didn't see this coming in midseason. He asked it was for sure, Willies said he was firm.

- First, you'll notice that DE Drew Ott has dropped the mullet has been released. The beard is staying. He shaved it last winter and said it was a bad idea.
Fixing the Iowa run defense is job 1. Keep contain and better leverage on the ball.
Video 3
- I walked into a question to QB Jake Rudock about a lack of a sense of urgency. You hear the answer. I wish I would've caught the front end of that.
When Iowa passes 50-plus, it loses. 'When you're down, you have to throw the ball.”
What did they work on last week? Self-scouting, some new things and improve on things they haven't done well.
He said NW defense is a lot like Iowa's in the way they set their front.
On distractions: 'Unfortunately, things are going to happen. You try to grow from them. You can't shove them under the rug. You have to own up and try not to let them happen again.”
