ST. ANNES, ENGLAND - Zach Johnson struggled on Friday at the Open Championship in England, carding a second-round 74 at Royal Lythum & St. Annes.
The 4-over-par total for the day dropped the Cedar Rapids native to 1-under for the tournament, which is tied for 15th place but nine shots back of the leader, Brandt Snedeker.
Snedeker tied the course record with a 64. Adam Scott, Thursday's leader, sits at minus-9, one behind the leader.

Johnson, who teed off in the afternoon, made just two birdies in his second round, just a day after carding seven in a round of 65. Johnson made double-bogey on the par-4 third hole and made four other bogeys in the round.
On Saturday, Johnson will tee off at 1:15 p.m. England time with Thomas Bjorn.
Tiger Woods holed out from a greenside bunker on his final hole of the day and finished with his second straight 3-under 67, which is good enough for third place, four shots back.
Eighty-three players made the weekend cut, which was set at 3-over-par. Those who missed the cut included Sergio Garcia (+4), defending champion Darren Clark (+7) and Phil Mickelson (+11).
