Hawkeye Downs races set for McGrath Auto Group Night

The summer is progressing and there are only four weeks remaining on the original weekly points races season schedule at Hawkeye Downs Speedway.

This week the track will host races sponsored by McGrath Auto Group. All six divisions - late model, sportsman, modified, legends, hobby stock and hornet - will compete in heat and feature races. The hornets division will also have competitors in the trophy dash, giving select drivers who have not won yet this season a chance to vie for a trip to victory lane.

The Lil Racer Kids Club will also conduct boxcar races during the evening.

Gates open at 6 p.m. with hot laps at 6:35 p.m. Pre-race ceremonies are set for 7:15 with heat races beginning at 7:30. Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for senior citizens, $5 for students 13 years old and older and children 12 and younger are free,
