1. The two times Iowa began its Big Ten season with three wins were 2002 and 2009. Both seasons ended with BCS bowl appearances. Since 1940, just 10 Iowa teams have begun a season 6-1 or better. Iowa is 5-1.
2. Maryland is 5-for-5 in fourth-down conversion attempts. Iowa is 9-of-12. Only two other Big Teams have converted more than half of their fourth-down tries.
3. Iowa has intercepted a pass on their opponents' final possession in four different games.

4. Maryland senior defensive end Andre Monroe has 19.5 career sacks. That's despite missing his entire sophomore season with a knee injury.
