IOWA CITY — A.J. Ediger will participate in the University of Iowa women's basketball 'elite camp' this week.
She'll do so as a Hawkeye-to-be.
Ediger announced Sunday that she has verbally committed to the Hawkeyes, effective the 2021-22 season.

'I think I kind of jumped onto their radar in the summer of 2017,' said Ediger, a junior-to-be a Hamilton (Mich.) High School. 'They reached out to me, I went to their elite camp and instantly fell in love with it here.'
Ediger averaged 20 points and 9.9 rebounds per game last season as Hamilton went 25-1 and reached the Michigan Division 2 state semifinals. She was a second-team all-stater by the Associated Press.
In the semifinal loss to Freeland, Edinger posted 33 points and 17 rebounds. She scored 31 points in a quarterfinal victory.
Ediger's initials stand for Allison Jaye. Her high school team is named the Hawkeyes.
'Everybody says it's too much of a coincidence not to come to Iowa,' she said.
Ediger picked Iowa over Nebraska and Illinois State. She said her strength is 'my footwork and my ability to get going downhill from the elbow. I'll probably play a wing at Iowa and post up when I have a mismatch.'
