Jahsiah Galvan scored the golden goal with a 91st-minute penalty kick, sending West Liberty past Nevada, 3-2, and to the boys’ state soccer semifinals for the third-straight season.

Powered by a determined senior class, Dyersville Beckman’s boys’ state soccer team returned to the state tournament for the first time since 2017. The Trailblazers are moving on to the Class 1A semifinals after a 2-1 win over West Central Valley.

Davenport Assumption’s quarterfinal games have been routs in its run of five consecutive girls’ state soccer championships. Center Point-Urbana was confident it could hang with the top-ranked Knights this year, though, and did in a 1-0 loss.
