Tipsy Tomato opening in Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS — The wait is over. After much anticipation, Tipsy Tomato will hold its grand opening on Thursday, Feb. 9.

The new pizza restaurant from Epic Catering LLC, at 319 Seventh St. SE, joins the triplex being planned by the restaurant holding company. Midtown Reserve, an upscale reservation-only concept, was the first to open in October.

Tipsy Tomato’s opening is planned to coincide with National Pizza Day. Signs for the restaurant first appeared in April 2022.

The restaurant will offer specialty crafted pizzas like the Tipsy Green pizza with a pistachio pesto base, arugula and cherry tomatoes, or tried-and-true favorites like barbecue and Hawaiian.

With a casual atmosphere and patio, the restaurant also will serve a variety of appetizers, salads, craft cocktails and craft beer.

An opening date for the third concept in the triplex has not been announced.

Siena Italiana, an Italian carryout-only concept, was previously planned to join Midtown Reserve and Tipsy Tomato. After the opening of Midtown Reserve, that idea had been scrapped in favor of Chapo’s Tacos — a carryout taco and margarita concept, according to an Epic Catering representative.
