IOWA CITY — The Eat Shop in Solon has partnered a new coffee shop in Iowa City, giving fans of the The Eat Shop’s baked goods another place to purchase them.
Sidekick Coffee & Books at 1310 1/2 Melrose Ave. in Iowa City started offering The Eat Shop’s cookies, cinnamon rolls, pecan rolls, kolaches and more as its exclusive provider of baked goods starting Sept. 19. Patrons can get the sweets there four days a week.
“Sidekick owner Katy Herbold and I believe the people of Iowa City will be very excited to get exceptional pastries and amazing coffee offerings at the same place — just steps from Kinnick Stadium,” said Cheryl Maloney, The Eat Shop’s owner.

The expansion comes in short order after other partnerships with The Eat Shop, including Dan and Debbie’s Creamery in Ely and The Crosspark Hy-Vee in Coralville. The Eat Shop opened in Solon in August 2021.
