MARION — A national smoothie chain has opened a new location in uptown Marion.

Planet Smoothie’s first Corridor location at 1107 Seventh Ave., Suite 105, held a grand opening on April 24. The franchised location is the chain’s second one in Iowa, after its location in Altoona.

The opening is one of five so far this year across the country. The chain, based in Scottsdale, Ariz., offers a health-conscious menu across the northeast, southeast and southwest.

Signature options include The Last Mango with mango and orange sherbet; Captain Kid with strawberries; PBJ with peanut butter, banana and strawberries; and Shag-a-Delic with blueberries and vanilla yogurt.

The location also offers a line of smoothies under 300 calories in strawberry lemonade, strawberry pina colada and Caribbean-themed flavors.

Those looking for specific boosts have options with kale and other superfoods, caffeine, protein and keto-friendly ingredients.
