Great Harvest Bread Company opening second location

CEDAR RAPIDS — Great Harvest Bread Company’s second location, The Cafe at Westdale, is preparing to open soon.

The new location, 3998 Westdale Parkway SW. Suite 100, will give the bakery a presence on the southwest side of Cedar Rapids, in addition to their current location at 5070 Lindale Drive NE.

The Dec. 5 social media update said the new location “will be open just as soon as we can.” An opening date has not yet been announced.

A June newsletter initially announcing the expansion said the new location would bring an expanded breakfast menu with hot and cold sandwiches, while the original location would serve as the main bakery.

Dion and Laurel Williams founded the first Cedar Rapids location in 2013. Great Harvest has hundreds of franchise locations around the country, all independently owned and operated.
