Fry Daddy’s Grill & Pizza coming to Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS — A new option for sandwiches, pizza, fried chicken and more is coming soon to Cedar Rapids.

Fry Daddy’s Grill & Pizza could open as early as this month, according to a social media post from the new restaurant at 1500 20th St. SW — behind BurgerFiend, where the Olive Tree used to be located.

The menu displays quite a variety. Sandwiches focus on Philly varieties with options like jerk chicken, as well as reubens, Italian beef sandwiches and po’ boys.

The restaurant’s namesake earns its “fry” keyword with a menu of fried fish, shrimp and chicken in several meal deal options. Fried appetizers including mozzarella sticks, breaded mushrooms and cheese curds also will be available.

Rounding out the menu are a few healthy salad and wrap options.

Olive Tree moved across the street to 2201 16th Ave. SW in July 2022, after Rosy’s Salvadoran & Mexican restaurant closed.
